A bank reference letter is a document issued by a bank to confirm a customer’s banking relationship. It typically includes information about the account holder, the type of account, and the duration of the banking relationship.
How to Request a Reference Letter
You can request a reference letter in one of three ways:
Email: Send a request to [email protected].
In-App Message: Use the Kuda app to send an in-app message.
Phone Call: Call us at 07000CALLKUDA (0700022555232) any day of the week between 8 AM and 7 PM.
Required Information for Your Request
To process your request, please provide the following:
Details of the Recipient: Include the exact details of the person or office to whom the letter should be addressed. For example:
The Consular General,
British High Commission,
19 Torrens Close,
Mississippi,
Maitama, Abuja.
Photo Verification: Submit a clear picture of yourself holding a valid ID along with a piece of paper showing today’s date. This helps us verify that the request is from you.
Preferred ID: The National Identification Number (NIN) is preferred, but other valid IDs are also acceptable.
Important Information
Fee: A charge of N500 applies for the issuance of a reference letter. Please confirm your consent for this fee to be debited from your account to proceed with the request.
Delivery: The completed reference letter will be sent to the email address registered on your account.
For a Physical Copy
Pickup at Our Office: You may pick up a physical copy at our office located at 1-11 Commercial Avenue, Sabo, Yaba, between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).
Third-Party Pickup: If you would like someone else to pick up the letter on your behalf, please provide their details. The designated person must bring a valid ID for verification when collecting the letter.
Reasons for Denial
Please note that requests for a reference letter may be denied for the following reasons:
The account is less than six months old.
The account has restrictions.
The account has an active overdraft.
