Fraudsters are always looking out for ways to scam people and one of their most common methods is to send fake transaction alerts. There are applications built just to send such alerts, and fraudsters use them to deceive people and steal their money.

Follow these tips to protect yourself from fake alerts:

1. We don’t send debit or credit alerts by SMS.

We send transaction alerts as push notifications on your Kuda app and as emails from [email protected]. Please, pay attention to the email sender address and our transaction email style.

2. Confirm all transactions.

If you’re making a business transaction, confirm that you've received the money from the transaction before concluding your business.

Take note of your account balance before a transaction and make sure you do business with trusted people.

Be very wary of customers who hurry you to look at debit alerts on their phones. You can confirm the authenticity of an alert by checking your account balance on your Kuda app, at an ATM, or in your bank statement.

3. Be security conscious.

If you haven’t received a push notification for a transaction, don’t give your phone to anyone who claims to know how to help you get a push notification. They can check your account balance and other account information. Please, be on the lookout. Don’t fall victim to fake bank alerts.

If you are unsure about a transaction or need more information about it, chat with us on your Kuda app, send a message to [email protected] or call 0700022555832.
