Direct Debit lets you allow trusted companies to take money from your Kuda account automatically. This is useful for regular payments like loan repayments, investments, subscriptions, or bills.
Think of it as linking your Kuda account to another service so payments happen without you having to transfer money every time.
What is a mandate?
A mandate is the permission you give a bank, lender, or service provider to debit your Kuda account. Once a mandate is active, that service can collect payments from your account when they are due.
You stay in control because you must approve the mandate before it becomes active.
How Direct Debit works on Kuda
A third-party organisation, investment partner, or lender requests to link your Kuda account.
They send a small authorisation charge to your Kuda account through NIBSS.
You pay this charge to confirm the request.
NIBSS checks that the account details match to protect you from fraud.
Once approved, usually within 24 working hours, your mandate becomes active.
You get an email and a push notification from Kuda confirming this.
After this, the service can debit your account for agreed-upon payments.
How to see your linked accounts
