What is Safety Mode?

Safety Mode is a security feature that helps keep your money safe if someone tries to access your account from a new device.

Why is it important?

If you log in from a new phone or tablet, Safety Mode will turn on automatically to protect your account.

What happens in Safety Mode?

When Safety Mode is on, you’ll need to enter a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your phone after using your PIN or fingerprint to:

  • Make a payment

  • Order a card (physical or virtual)

  • View your card details

This extra step lasts for only 72 hours (3 days). After that, things go back to normal — just your PIN or fingerprint.

What you can’t do in Safety Mode:

  • You can’t change your Transaction PIN

What you can still do:

  • Transfer up to ₦50,000 per day and transaction

  • Buy airtime or pay bills up to ₦10,000 per day and transaction

  • Use your Kuda card freely, with no spending limits! (Safety Mode won’t block transactions)

How to turn off Safety Mode:

You can:

  • Wait 72 hours – it will turn off by itself

  • Or reach out to us:

    • Chat with us in the app

    • Call: 0700022555832
(We’re here from 8 am–7 pm on weekdays and 8 am–5 pm on weekends)
